Votorantim Cimentos receives award from sustainability magazine

On November 10th, Votorantim Cimentos was recognized in three categories in the Green Building Award – Featured Brands. The award bears the name of the magazine; publication specialized in sustainability in the construction industry.

Through various initiatives, Votorantim Cimentos has products with a strong vector of sustainability; tires and energy waste from various industries are used as a source of energy for our production process, in place of traditional fossil fuels.  This is done through co-processing in our factories. These are some actions we undertake to reduce the environmental footprint and greenhouse gas (GHG).

"This recognition is very important to us because sustainability is one of the strategic pillars of our business. To be here today with the other representatives of the construction market, it is essential to show that eco-efficiency in the sector should be assessed throughout the production chain, from manufacturing of cement until reaching our customers", says Alvaro Lorenz, Global Technical Director. According to him the Sustainable Practices of Votorantim Cimentos leave an important legacy for the sector.

Awarded Categories:

1st place in the Cement Category – Votoran
