We Acquired A Mortar Plant in Belém and Expanded our Presence in the Brazilian North Region

We have completed the acquisition of Supermassa's mortar plant located in Ananindeua, in the metropolitan region of Belém (in the state of Pará, Brazil), expanding our operations in the northern region of the country. With a production capacity of 150,000 tons per year, our new unit will initially produce the Internal Ceramic, Internal and External, and Floor Over Floor adhesive mortars as part of the Votomassa brand. Our total investment, including acquisition, technological modernization, automation and plant improvements, is R$ 16.5 million.

"This investment is in line with our strategy of growth and geographic diversification, and is another demonstration of our confidence in the development potential of Brazil," said Edmundo Correa Ramos, our Businesses Operations director.

Our new plant in the city of Ananindeua is our 11th mortar unit in Brazil. With the acquisition, we reached a total annual production capacity of over 2.51 million tons of mortar. Our other plants are located in the towns of Barueri, Cajamar and Limeira (all in the state of São Paulo), Camaçari (Bahia), Esteio (Rio Grande do Sul), Rio Branco do Sul (Paraná), Sobradinho (Federal District), Pecém (Ceará), Itaú de Minas (Minas Gerais) and Cuiabá (Mato Grosso).

"The new operation will strengthen Votomassa's operations in the metropolitan region of the capital of the state of Pará, expanding our product offering to our customers, with our high-quality standards," said Carlos Vicente Flores Escalona, our mortar general manager.
