Votorantim Cimentos receives award from respected Brazilian business magazine

For the second consecutive time, Votorantim Cimentos wins the Prêmio Exame Melhores e Maiores - Categoria Indústria da Construção (Exame Magazine Best and Largest Companies Award – Category: Construction Industry) promoted by Brazil’s main business magazine. In 2015, this annual award reaches its 42nd edition and elects the 1,000 major companies of Brazil, in partnership with FIPECAFI and FEA/USP.

The good results of 2014 favored Votorantim Cimentos, as the company presented financial soundness with net revenue of $5,5 billion, EBITDA of $1,5 billion and net profit of $0,5 billion. Another highlight of 2014 was the global investment grade assigned by the three main rating agencies: Standard & Poor’s (rating BBB, stable outlook), Moody’s (Baa3, stable outlook) and Fitch Ratings (BBB, negative outlook). In 2015, Fitch Ratings reaffirmed its risk rating for Votorantim Cimentos (BBB) and changed its negative outlook to stable due to the company’s strong liquidity position.

“The maintenance of the R$5 billion investment plan until the end of 2018, in spite of the challenging economic scenario, demonstrates our long-term perspective, with construction of new production lines in the center-west and northeast regions of Brazil, in addition to new units in the United States, Bolivia and Turkey, says Walter Dissinger, CEO of Votorantim Cimentos.

Implementation of a new global corporate governance, which encompasses the 14 countries where the company operates, also favored the company, with direct impact on Votorantim Cimentos international income. Adoption of a new structured commercial model, based on the profiles and needs of construction market segments (self-construction, real estate, industrial and infrastructure), offering innovative products that increase their customers’ construction work efficiency and productivity, also favored the company.
