Global Cement and Concrete Association(GCCA)

The GCCA was established in 2018, as part of the new agreement, the work carried out by the Cement Sustainability Initiative (CSI) has transferred from WBCSD to the GCCA from 1 January 2019.

The goal is for the GCCA’s membership to represent at least 50 % of the global cement production capacity, which we are fast working towards. Already we have 32 members companies and 9 affiliate organisations who have joined from right across the globe.

Members are producers of Portland cement clinker and other natural cementitious clinkers for the manufacture of cement. All full members have to comply with the GCCA’s Sustainability Charter.

Sustainability Charter

The GCCA Sustainability Charter identifies five key pillars which encompass the sustainability spectrum of the cement and concrete sector and has set out the requirements for full members against each of these.

Full members must implement sustainability initiatives across all five pillars and set targets for performance improvement for each of the pillars to achieve compliance.
