We are pleased to announce that the credit rating agency Fitch Ratings has upgraded our global credit rating to ‘BBB’ from ‘BBB-‘, with a “stable” outlook, reaffirming our investment grade rating.
We are part of a select group of Brazilian companies rated as investment grade by the three main global rating agencies, Moody’s, S&P Global Ratings and Fitch Ratings.
Ratings are an assessment of credit quality and reflect the opinion of credit rating agencies on the ability of an issuer (a corporation or a government) to honor its financial obligations in full and when due. Fitch’s rating scale ranges from C, the lowest, to AAA, the highest. The agency classifies companies with a rating of BBB- or higher as investment grade.
In its report, Fitch highlights Votorantim Cimentos’ improved business profile in the cement industry, especially in North America and Spain, following recent acquisitions. Other highlights include our solid credit profile and management’s long-term commitment to protecting our credit during challenging economic times in Brazil.
This achievement is the result of Our VC Way, our financial discipline, and the work and dedication of the entire team.
