I started working at VCEA eleven years ago, and throughout this time I have learnt a great deal and met excellent professionals. One of the first challenges I faced was developing the Code of Conduct, conducting the Climate Survey and releasing communication campaigns in six languages (English, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Gujarati and Turkish). Since the beginning, I have enjoyed working in a multicultural environment, highly committed to continuous improvement to build a legacy.

When I joined Votorantim Cimentos, the company was 45 years old, Engemix was 13, and I was 22—full of dreams and aspirations. Today, 45 years later, I see that reality has far exceeded those dreams. Back then, I never imagined I would negotiate five shopping centers, hundreds of buildings, two stadiums, and the project that would become São Paulo’s (Brazil) iconic landmark: the Estaiada Bridge. I am deeply grateful to Votorantim Cimentos for this life journey guided by ethics above all, and for making me a better person. Finally, I leave just one message for that 22-year-old back in 1981: “Go forward—you’re about to build a wonderful story in this company."

Today we celebrate 90 years of a company that has built a solid history marked by hard work, innovation, and committed people. I am proud to have been part of this journey for 21 years, learning, growing, and contributing daily to this legacy. Here, I grew as a professional and as a person, alongside those who make a difference every day. May the coming years bring even more achievements, unity, and success. Celebrating Votorantim Cimentos’ 90th anniversary is truly rewarding. My father, a bricklayer, used VC products long before I joined the company, and today I have the privilege of contributing to the production of these materials. This is where I grew, learned, and developed, and seeing my story intertwine with the company’s reinforces my pride and hope for an even stronger future.

I am part of the third generation leading Casas da Água, serving as a director. The company was founded by my grandfather, José Nitro da Silva, who today also holds the position of director and president. When we think about a company reaching 90 years, we know it didn’t happen by chance. We are certain it is a company with a strong purpose. Casas da Água is proud to be part of this milestone, this great achievement, which is Votorantim Cimentos. Celebrating 90 years of a company we know is serious, ethical in business, and has always maintained a transparent relationship with us makes us very proud. We are thrilled to be part of this journey because, after all, construction is what we do best.
