Votorantim Cimentos is recognized as one of the largest Brazilian companies in the Mining Sector

​​Votorantim Cimentos is among the largest Brazilian companies in the mining sector, occupying the 6th place, according to Brasil Mineral’s magazine ranking, publication specialized in the sectors of mining, metallurgy, steel , ferroalloys and Oil.

According to the magazine, the methodology used to the selection and classification of the companies in the ranking is based in the amounts paid by the companies in respect of CFEM (Financial Contributions for Mineral Exploration), collected based on the net value of the declared production.​​

Present in the business of building materials (cement, concrete, aggregates and mortars) since 1933, Votorantim Cimentos is among the 10 biggest companies in this sector worldwide, with a cement production capacity of 54.5 million tons a year and revenue of R$ 12.9 billion in 2014. Votorantim Cimentos has units strategically located close to the most important consumer markets in growth and it’s present in 13 countries besides Brazil: Argentina, Bolivia, Canada, Chile, China, Spain, United States, India, Morocco, Peru, Tunisia, Turkey and Uruguay.​​

​​With more than 16 thousand employees, Votorantim Cimentos has 34 cement plants, 22 grinding mills, 322 ready-mix plants, 86 aggregates installments and 9 mortar units. With a wide geographic presence and consistent operating performance, Votorantim Cimentos recorded a net income of R$ 1,14 billions, besides 27,1% in the EBITDA margin and 6,1% growth in the net profit in 2014. The recurrent results led the company to be the industry’s first company in Brazil to obtain investment grade on a global scale of the three main risk rating agencies : Standard & Poor’s , Moody’s and Fitch in 2014.​​
